Dear Single Parent Homeschool:

I just wanted to say how happy I am to have found this site.

I am a single mother. The desire of my heart has always been to raise my own children and keep my own home. Though I believe that if you don't work, you don't eat, I have never had a career mentality. I have never wanted to be working outside of my home all day long while someone else raises my child.

My daughter is 9 and ever since I had to go back to full-time work when she was 3 mos. old, I have been resentful. But how was I supposed to support her otherwise?

Ever since she has started school, I have been dissatisfied and she has not been happy. She is an extremely intelligent child but has no desire to do well in school, no motivation because I don't believe she is getting what she needs as a person.

It has been my desire for the last couple of years to teach her myself at home--but how could I possibly do this as a single parent? Then I find this site and honestly, just knowing it exists gives me hope!

I am determined to give this to God now and let Him lead me into what I have desired to do in my heart. All things are possible with God!
